Little Nellie

To say my child is small I guess would be an understatement. I missed her 12 month appointment so we went last week when she was almost 14 months. Her stats: 16 lbs. 8 oz. with big shoes, a full diaper, heavy pants and shirt. She is 27 inches tall with her shoes on as well. I don't know why they didn't take off her shoes at least, but whatever. She is not on the charts, not that I expected her to be. She is still fitting very nicely into her 3-6 month clothes. In fact I bought her 6-9 month for winter and I am hoping they fit her better by then because right now they are huge on her.

It may sound like I am worried about her, but actually I am not. She eats so much, I thought Lizzy ate a lot when she was little but Nellie eats even more. She usually eats as much as I do for meals. She loves basically everything especially fruits and vegetables. I know she will probably always be little and I actually kind of like it. She just doesn't have the genes to be big.

The only thing I don't like is when people act like I need to be worried about how small she is. I think they need to be worried about how fat their kids are, I mean isn't that the big concern nowadays, childhood obesity. Here I am with two kids that are not ever going to have to worry about that and people are trying to say I should be concerned about my kids size. I have small kids. I was tiny when I was young and I survived just fine.

Cool Weather

Last week was really cool so I broke out the girls new winter clothes. (Which Lizzy has been begging to wear since we got them.) The girls looked so cute in them. Nellie's of course were way too big, every time I looked around Nellie had removed her pants because they were sliding off. Hopefully by winter she will have grown into them. They are 6-9 month for heavens sake.
We really enjoyed having a week with such cool weather but of course this week it was back up in the 90's with high humidity.

Tiny Dancer

Lizzy started dance class last week and she loves it to say the least. She loves wearing her dance shoes around the house and on Monday when she goes to dance, she asks me all day when it is time to go. When dance class is over she cries on the drive home because she wants to dance. The funny thing is that when she first gets to class she gets really nervous around the other kids and starts to cry when we leave. She does just fine after a few minutes though. I think it is just such a new experience for her because I haven't really left her at all besides every once in a while with family. I think preschool will really help her a lot. She gets to start school in November, once she turns three.

I love her cute little legs in her dance outfit. She is so little the XXS leotard is too big, but you can't really tell.

Dress Up

I had meetings on Saturday, so Kevin was with the girls all afternoon. What a good daddy to dress the girlies up. So cute.
Nellie looks hilarious. I love how Nellie's one strand of hair she does have is sticking straight out because she got jelly in it at lunch and Kevin didn't bother to wash it out. Typical dad.

Labor Day, and Fall!

We didn't do a whole lot for Labor Day. Kevin decided to go and play in a golf tournament, so the day was like any other for me. He did get home in the afternoon and we watched a little PGA Golf on T.V. and got to see Phil Mickelson win. (He is our favorite golfer) Then we went to the community pool since it was the last day it was open and let the girls swim.

Lizzy was way too busy to join us in our pictures.

I can't believe that summer is already over. I am glad though, we had a really miserable humid summer, we couldn't even go outside unless we were going swimming, and since I don't have a car that meant for a lot of days being stuck inside all day long. I missed the spring when we would go to the park every day or walk down to the grocery store or to main street to window shop. I am so excited for Fall. It is my favorite time of year. I love the feeling in the air and the holidays that are coming and all of the excitement. I love baking around this time of year, there is just something about the cool weather that makes me love to cook even more. Yay for Fall!

Miss Manners

Lizzy is something else. Her new thing is giving compliments. Everyone she meets she is talking to and giving compliments. "You've got really pretty blue eyes" "I like your shirt, it's cute" "that outfit is darling" I love it when she says that one because I know she got the word from me telling her and Nellie how darling they are. It just sounds really cute coming from a two year old. "You look beautiful Mom" "I love your dress it is so gorgeous." Your hair looks pretty today" And on and on. When I am cooking she always comes in the kitchen and says "That smells Yuuummmee."

What a sweet girl I have. I am so grateful that I have been blessed with a little girl that is so kind to other people.

Pretties

Nellie has become really obsessed with jewelry or pretties as we call them in our house. So we bought her some little necklaces and she will wear them all day long. I take them off for her naps and when she wakes up she goes and finds them and puts them back on and wears them until I take them off again.

She also loves to wear Lizzy's sunglasses. She thinks it is so funny that she is wearing them and can still see through them. I love how covered in fingerprints they are.
It is amazing how much she has grown up in the past couple of months. She is really a toddler now and no longer a little baby. She has also figured out how to get Lizzy in trouble, if Lizzy takes something from her she just squeals really really loud and high pitch. I can't describe how deafening it is, but seriously I wouldn't be surpirsed if my hearing has been damaged from it. Those who have heard it can testify to that.

Little singer Lizzy

Because I am the Primary President and was the Primary Chorister before that and we haven't had enough kids, or people to fill the calling for Nursery in our branch, Lizzy has just gone to primary since she was about 15 months. So she has learned all of the primary songs that we have learned in primary during that time. And does she know them. She will sing them all day long and she knows all the words to over twenty primary songs. I would like to take the credit for teaching them to her, but she is the one that has had the desire to learn them. She absolutely loves to sing. I hope that she gets her dad's good voice and not her Mom's so that it can be a lifelong love.

This video was filmed back in June just after she performed the second song in church for Father's Day and melted all of our hearts. I can't wait for the primary program. I am sure going to need my tissues for that one.

Sacramento...part 2

I know I already went to Sacramento this year, and Utah three times, but I do have lots of family to see. And let's not forget where I live, I have to leave a lot to keep my sanity. I wanted to spend some time with McKay, who just got home from his mission in Germany this summer, and Joseph who just left for his mission to Germany. I had so much fun with my little bros, Kimball also. I was so fun to stay up with them and talk and watch movies, or in my case sleep through movies. (It just is really hard to stay up once you have two babies that won't let you sleep in.) Lizzy had fun getting to know Uncle Kay as she called him. She was only six months old when he left. It took her a little while to warm up to him but she did and has talked about Uncle Kay quite a bit since. It is funny that she calls him Uncle Kay, because all my other brothers she just calls by their first name. She of course had fun with her cousin Jakey. They always have fun together, but this time they got along really well too. We went to Fairytale Town which the little kids love. There are slides and things to climb in and such. It is really great for kids Lizzy's age, because they don't need anything more than some fun slides and playground stuff. The two little monkeys

Her favorite. Cinderella's carriage. I let her stay in there for about 15 minutes. Finally I told her we needed to get going and she says very seriously "But Mom I need to go to the Ball!" It was really cute.

Riding the tractor.

Nellie had so much fun just wandering around

Sitting with Mother Goose
Nellie chilling in her seat. She has started doing this really cute thing with her mouth, she is kindof doing it here.

Uncle Kay and the little girlies

Chillin in Grandma's cool dinosaur pool

Nellie had a lot of fun, she has really warmed up to other people and will go to anyone now.

Catching up

I know I am way behind on posting. I am not exactly quick with the computer and I have two girls that make it nearly impossible given the location of our computer (in the basement) and how everytime I think I can sneak down there when Nellie is napping and Lizzy is watching a movie or playing so nicely, I get a scream from the top of the stairs... "MAMA, where are you?" "Only the place that told you I was going to be five minutes ago." "Nellie's awake!" "Only because you were so loud that it woke her up." So that is why I don't post a lot and why since I am backed up in my posts I just keep telling myself it will take too long and I don't have time. I will try and catch up soon though.
