Hansen Family Reunion

I am SO very far behind in my posting. I have a million pictures to post from our vacation! I think that is the problem though, it feels too overwhelming. So I am just going to do a little at a time until I get caught up. So check back soon for more updates.

We traveled out to Utah in the middle of June for the Hansen family reunion. My parents and all the kids stayed at a cabin up in Heber. It was great because there were 8 bedrooms and tons of space, so even though there were over 40 of us we all fit pretty comfortably. Everyone was there except my brother Joseph (who is on a mission) and my sister-in-law Kristen (Jarom's wife). It was so much fun I don't even have words how good it was to be able to all be together. It had been almost two years since I had seen a couple of my brothers, so it was awesome.

Unfortunately it rained basically the whole time we were there so we couldn't do a whole lot of outdoor stuff, but that really didn't matter. We just hung out and talked and laughed and ate. My family is very good at laughing together and we all love to cook and eat. Sunday we had a sacrament meeting and a testimony meeting together and it was really neat to hear every ones testimony and feel the spirit so strong. We celebrated every body's birthday and the kids were anxiously waiting to eat the cake.
My Dad was showing Nellie and some of the little kids how to play pool the kids way. They really enjoyed being with Grandpa.

W had Family Home Evening and had a fun activity and them we made smores. Lizzy liked hers.

About half of the grand kids eating dinner. It is crazy how many grand kids my parents have with plenty more to come.

The kids making tie dyed shirts. My sister Janae was so amazing and she had a bunch of activities for the kids to do.

Here was another activity for the kids. They got to paint these cute little animals and Nellie painted her bear completely green of course.

We did get a little bit of sun and the girls and Kevy rode the four-wheeler. They looked so cute on there.

Kevy just finished one of his classes that was quite intensive, so he was glad to be able to relax and read a novel for the first time in a really long time.

These guys sure had a good time together.

My family loves to do puzzles and I thought this picture of Nellie and my brother Bryce was so dang cute. Nellie thought she really was helping with the puzzle.

Hack Job

So I thought that Lizzy was past the self haircut stage, but apparently not! Last Sunday she was playing downstairs and came up and I looked at her and this is what I saw!

She had hacked off about 3-4 inches on the side of her hair! I really wasn't too upset because I will be honest, I am a short hair kind of girl. Although I do enjoy being able to do her hair lots of different ways and pull it up and stuff. But she says to me " I wanted to cut it and you wouldn't do it." This coming two days after she told me she didn't want to cut it she wanted to grow it out! She told me she wanted to have hair like Aunt Chanelle , who has long hair, and I told her now she was going to have short hair like Mommy and she said "I don't want to be a boy!" What a punk. Well thank heaven that Kristi moved out here because the cut was going to be more complicated then the cuts that I can do so, when we took her over on Saturday Kristi cut it and did an amazing job! Thank you again Kristi! It looks so dang cute. She looks so grown up I can't believe it.

She did the back in an A line. I love it and I think Lizzy does too. I don't know if she will keep it this way, but I secretly hope she will.

Bouncy Bob

We got a new van!! I don't know what I am more amazed about, the fact that I finally have a car that fits three car seats, or the fact that I actually made it five months in my Galant with three huge car seats in the back. I know people might think it is lame that I am so thrilled about a new van, but if they had ridden with Nellie and Lizzy and Jane squished in their backseat for five months they would know how I feel.

We really researched and spent over a month looking for this van, I really wanted an Odyssey and they aren't very easy to come by. We ended up finding a good deal in Colorado, so yesterday Kevy and I and Jane drove to Colorado and picked it up, while Kristi (Thank you Kiki!) watched the other girls so we didn't have to take them. It was a very long day, but very worth it. I love my new van! The girls were thrilled when we pulled in and they saw it, it is like their new toy, which we have to be careful that they don't jack around in it, because they think it is so fun to play with the doors and stuff.

We have a family tradition of naming our cars, and since we have been planning on getting one for a while we let the girls come up with a name. Lizzy wanted Bob and Nellie wanted Bouncy Ball, (don't ask me) so we came up with Bouncy Bob. I know silly but we like it.

The girls just love their new van and so do I because now I can put in a DVD and they will be quiet and they won't be sitting next to each other pinching each other and trying to tease each other.

Busy days!

We have been pretty busy this last little while, which I love. Spring is finally here, and I love it! I am just not a winter person I have discovered.

Lizzy had her little dance recital and I would have to say that she is the cutest little Minnie mouse ever! She danced to "Hey Mickey, you're so fine" it was so dang cute, if I get ambitious I will post the video, but don't count on it. Nellie found her Minnie mouse ears from Disneyland and she had to wear them to the recital, it was really cute. Kevin's sister Kristi moved out here, Hurray! And one of the first things she did was my hair, I was dying! The girls thought it was the coolest thing ever to watch and they helped her by giving her the foils.

I turned 30 this month, which surprisingly didn't bother me at all. I think because I am exactly where I always wanted to be when I was 30. It was a low key birthday, Kevy made me dinner and a cake and we just hung out at home. he took good care of me. It was a great birthday, I got to be with my favorite people in the world.
I loved this picture, the girlies found these glasses for Jane and so they all posed. So cute! I love having these 3 little girls.
For Mothers Day weekend we went down to Wichita to visit my brother Austin, who is doing some training in Oklahoma for the next month. It was so good to see him, it has been over a year since I had last seen him and he is getting deployed in June so I am glad we made the time to see him. The girls loved it, Austin was so sweet with them and helped out so much. I wish I had gotten a picture of him and Jane because he held her forever and she just loved it.
Nellie found a best friend in Austin, he tickled her and that is her favorite thing ever.
we promised the girls if they were good on the drive down we would take them to Chuck E. Cheese. It was pretty much all Lizzy talked about. They really enjoyed themselves, and since we had already eaten, we got out of there only spending ten dollars, it rocked.

Nellie was so exhausted from staying up late that she fell asleep with her sucker in her mouth. It was too funny, if you know Nellie and how serious she is about her candy you would know how rare this picture is.
My baby is growing so fast I can't believe it! She is already 4 months old. I took her to her checkup and she is 10 lbs. 15 oz. 4th percentile. She is actually almost two pounds smaller than Lizzy at the same age, so she may be my little tiny one. But she is healthy so I am not worried about her. I put her hair up in a little ponytail, it was so cute. I love having a baby with hair! After Nellie who was completely bald until she was almost two, it is nice.

I wish I could get more pictures of her smiling, she smiles all the time, but I just can't seem to get many of her smiling.
I bet you would never guess but Lizzy just loves her to pieces.

I just love these girls, what a blessing to be a mom!
We planted our garden again this year, I hope it does better than last year, we didn't get much from our crappy garden last year. I always find it so enjoyable to go out and see how everything is growing and get excited about picking the stuff and eating it.

It has gotten pretty warm lately and the girls were so excited to break out the swimsuits and run through the sprinklers. Nellie is surprisingly more timid around the water and hangs out around the edge.

Lizzy on the other hand is right up in the middle of things. I think it might have something to do with their ages.

Sisters, Sisters

I know I have said it before, but I really love seeing these two together. When Nellie isn't trying to beat the crap out of Lizzy and when Lizzy isn't being a tattle tale and bossy cow, they play really well together and love to be together. I just love it.
We love to go down and visit Daddy at work and they had a blast playing on the lawn mower.

We got them some new sunglasses and princess night gowns and they decided that they were rock stars, so they got out their play guitars and were playing for me. Notice Nellie's are Diego glasses, that girl is obsessed I tell you.

Gotta love the makeup that they truly think looks good. I love the way Nellie is looking at Lizzy in this picture.

She is growing so fast!

We love our baby Janie! What a sweet baby she is. I can't believe she is almost four months, time has gone so fast. I am sure everyone knows that Nellie was the world's worst baby, so it has been so wonderful to have a really good baby. She sleeps really good at night, although she tricked me into thinking she was going to start sleeping through the night because for about two weeks she did, but then she stopped, Oh well she only wakes up once, so I can deal with that. She is such a chill baby, maybe I did get a mini Kevy after all, I did always want a child with his personality, all laid back and sweet. She is such a smiler and so content all the time. We all love her so much and are so glad she is in our family. We were working outside so we put Jane in her swing and she was so good for an hour or two, she sat there and enjoyed the outside and then fell asleep.

I just want to eat her up she is so sweet!

She is just so chill, she will sit on Daddy's lap or my lap forever.

All dressed up for church in her pretty pink dress Kevy's Grandma made her.

I love this picture and I love having these three little girls!

She isn't very chubby, (big surprise) I just don't think I am meant to have chubby babies, but she is growing just fine. I love little nakie babies.

Daddy and Janie taking a Sunday afternoon nap.

Easter Dresses

Since we had Stake Conference last week, and we were not about to take these three crazies to church to watch two hours of talking on a screen, the girls didn't get to wear their Easter dresses until this week. Who holds Stake Conference on Easter? Oh well it gave me another week to finish the dresses so I didn't have to stress to get them done.

We didn't want to be late for Church so we didn't take pictures until after church and by that time Janie was not going to have anything to do with it. Oh well, I don't know how possible it is to get a good picture of these three at this point in time, so I pretty much have resigned myself to that fact and know we will still enjoy these pictures in the future even if they aren't all looking perfect.

Egg Hunt

Our town had their annual Easter egg hunt this year, they have like 20,000 eggs so it is a pretty big deal. They ring a bell and then you can go and pick up eggs, we went to a spot where no one was and so the girls were able to pick up a ton of eggs before the wave of people came and took over our spot. Lance and Kelli and the kids were able to come up and spend the day with us and we had tons of fun! It was a warm day but with the Kansas wind that was sooo strong it didn't feel very warm. But it was nothing compared to last year, it was freezing, so overall it was a much better time.
The girlies posing for the camera while they waited for it to start.

Lizzy picking up her eggs.

Daddy helping Nellie

Look at all the eggs they got!

After the egg hunt we went home and colored eggs. We did glitter eggs which was lots of fun. Nellie only wanted green, (big surprise) and of course she wouldn't use a spoon and she dyed her hand bright green. She sure is silly. We had so much fun with Lance and Kelli. Thanks for coming and hanging out with us!

Messy Face

My sweet Nellie is so silly. It isn't hard to find a picture of her with food all over her face because she has her face covered in food all the time. It might just be harder to find a picture of her without food all over her face. Whatever I give her even if it is something like crackers, she manages to get it all over her face. She still likes to use her hands all the time when she eats, much to my dismay, but I figure she is still two, I guess she still has time to learn utensils. What a cutie though. I think she just might like being dirty, she is a tomboy for sure.
She loves frosting Grammie's cookies, can you tell?

We were eating chocolate fondue, Do you think she might have enjoyed it?

Why she thinks she needs to touch everything she eats, I have no idea.
