Swimming

We have been having a lot of fun going to the pool this year. it has been nice because with vacations and people from our ward inviting us we have been able to go quite a few times. It is good because I know how much the kids love going and it gives us something to look forward to. It also has been good to get the kids used to going swimming so that the aren't so scared of the water anymore. Lizzy has made huge strides this year with swimming. She was doing good last year by the end of the summer, but then this year she just has become a little fish. She loves to dive down to the bottom of the pool and she has even learned how to go under without plugging her nose. She is doing awesome. Nellie is even starting to do well this year too. She is even starting to let herself go underwater a little bit. Something she has never done before. Jane is still her timid self who likes to hang out on the side and dip her feet in. She does like to sit on my lap and float around on the lounger. Russ was really into swimming the first part of the season. But after a little mishap where he went under, he has since joined Jane on the sidelines. A little sad because he loved the water so much, but good too because I don't have to worry about him so much.

When we were in American Fork, we also went to the American Fork Rec Center where they have a big slide and the great thing about it is they will let you take little kids on it. I knew that Russ would love it and sure enough he did. He was doing his cute little chuckle the whole way down. And when we got done he immediately wanted to head back up and do it again. Jane really wanted to go too so we got all the way up there and she changed her mind but I just grabbed her and headed down. She then said " this is actually fun!" I knew she would like it. She wanted to go again too, the slide was definitely a favorite.

Russ was having fun wearing my glasses. Such a silly boy

Annie has joined us swimming a couple of times, but without being able to put sunscreen on her it has worked out good that she has slept the majority of times we went swimming

When we went out to Utah we has so much fun swimming with cousins. Jane has a little buddy to hang out with because Jack is a sideline sitter as well

Lizzy love love loves swimming with her cousins!

Russ was glued to his dad when Kevy was there to swim with us. Unfortunately that wasn't too much fun for Kevy, because Russ would not let anyone else be with him, little stinker. Russ did love the little slide and kept wanting to go down it over and over.

Nellie was convinced that if she was wearing fippers she would not be scared and be able to swim perfectly, but that of course wasn't the case.

I'm so glad that the kids love swimming. It is something I have always loved and love to do during the summer. I am so glad that I get to be home with my kids and build memories together especailly during the summer.

Fun with the Muhlesteins

My sister Janae and her two youngest boys came down to visit for a couple days while Brett and the two older ones were at scout camp. It is always good to spend time with my sister and the kids always love to see their cousins. I felt a little bad because Janae is from Washingtom where it always rains and it never does here during the summer, and it just happened to rain two of the days she was here. We still managed to have fun and the kids always have fun together. one of the things that the kids had fun doing was making a snail circus on our front porch. Jane was the designated snail getter. She is hilarious because she has absolutely no fear of bugs of any sort. She will pick up a spider a snail whatever. It is crazy because I really hate bugs and it seems most little girls do too.

One of the things I really love about Janae is that she loves to play games and do activities with the kids. It is a nice change from them wanting to watch tv all the time. We enjoyed playing Apples to Apples the disney version. It is the girls favorite game to play and even though Jane can't read what the cards say, she seems to win a majority of the time. Its too funny. We also went to Chuck E Cheese and the kids had fun trying to win tickets. I would say playing games but really all they want is the dumb tickets so they can buy the really lame prize with their million tickets. But I forgot my camera. It sure would be nice if the camera on my phone worked but oh well.
