Our Life

Our life lately has gotten really good. Kevin got a new job and we moved into my parents amazingly beautiful big house! We love living in this house so much! Bedtime has gone from one of the worst things ever where I really felt like I didn't know if I was going to make it, to being a breeze. Who knew having their own rooms could be the answer to everything! The kids love having their own space so much and having such a great backyard that they can go and play in.
The last few months that we were in the other house Russ had gotten so difficult. he was crying and whining nonstop. i didn't know if it was teeth or if it was still the adjustment from having Annie. But literally the day that we moved in, he became the happiest kid in the world. Like his old self!! When he saw his bed set up in the room he was chuckling and running around. He was so happy and has been ever since we moved in. I love it so much! I missed my old Russy!

Janie has had fun with her sisters playing dress up and having so much space that is just theirs. I just thought she looked so cute all dressed up in her big sisters dress. Too cute!

Russ has been such a great big brother to Annie. I just know with how close they are in age that they are really going to be close growing up. One day she was crying while I was in the other room and then she stopped, so I went in there to see what was going on and Russy was sitting there by her. It was really sweet. Usually he just loves her by laying his massive head on her so hard that she starts crying. He just loves her so much!

Jane and Russ are buddies too and they love watching tv in the mornings while I am trying to get all my work done. Jane used to always turn on Cars for Russ to watch, but lately she has decided that he can watch her shows too. The only problem is Russ is used to being coddled by his sisters and always getting whatever he wants so he just doesn't know what to do when this happens.

Even though Russ is super obsessed with Cars right now he still loves to be with his Dad and watch baseball or any sports with him. It was cute because Kevy was getting ready to go and play softball and he had his hat on so Russy ran upstairs and got his hat too to wear. I love that these two love each other so much!

We really really are enjoying having such a great backyard to play in. Russ and Jane love to go out there and ride their little bikes around.

Lately we have been on a serious ice cream kick. We have been having it a lot for treats and the kids love it. Especially when they get it in cones. Russ loves to say ice ceam? like I get it too right?

Since we were in the middle of moving AGAIN during Kevy's birthday I promised him I would make it up to him. So we had a celebration once we moved in. I made him a cake and the girls made him a special crown and cards and of course found stuff around the house and wrapped it up for him. Such silly girlies, but they really love their daddy!
Sometimes I see picures like this and think WOW kevy and I have 5 kids!!!

Annie has gotten really big lately too! She is sitting in her high chair now and eating cereal. I started her a little early because I knew she was hungry and she did so good with it. It was like she knew what to do from the very beginning. She was the best at that by far of all my kids. She is getting so big and we just love having her in our family!

First Day of School

We just moved in the week before school started, for the third time in the last four years. I really hope this is not a trend that continues. It was really nice though that we were at least coming back to a school that we already knew. Both Lizzy and Nellie had friends from before in their classes so that was good.
The girls were excited to have some new clothes and new backpacks. It is always fun for the first week or so to see how excited they are to get up and get ready and make their beds and all the stuff that gets so hard to get them to do later on.

It was cute because cute little Janie ran up and got her new clothes on and came down and got her picture taken, and then went and changed into something else. Russy was cute and wanted to be in the picture too!

Lizzy does so well at school, I never worry about her. She got a pretty strict teacher this year, but I am not too worried about her, I know she can handle it.

We walked to school the first day and then after that the girls have ridden their bikes and I cannot say enough about what a great thing it has been to not have to drive and pick them up with all the little ones. Especially because they are asleep a lot of the time when the girls get out of school.

Nellie is doing amazing in her class. She has such a nurturing teacher who is so kind and compassionate. Which is what Nelile really needs. She has moved up to the blue for behavior, (which is the highest you can do and isn't something that is easy to get) probably a third of the time! I am so proud of her! I am really grateful that she got the teacher that she did because that is the kind of teacher that she really needed and I know Heavenly Father was watching out for her.

Janie started school a couple weeks after the girls did and she was so excited to get started. The first day of school she was up and ready to go, asked me to do her hair, made her bed, etc. four hours before school started. It was cute because heading back to Miss Patty's we didn't have to worry about her being nervous. She was just ready to go. We love having the kids go to Miss Patty's Place. She is the best teacher ever!!

Its so crazy to see my little kids growing up so fast. So sad and so exciting at the same time. I am just trying to enjoy each day with my little ones and enjoy each stage that they are in. I feel really grateful that I get to be home with them. What a blessing! I am grateful that I have a husband that is supportive of me being home and works so hard to support us!

All About Nellie- 7 Years

Nellie is 7 years old! That is only a year away from baptism! How are my kids growing up so fast? It really is such a bitter sweet thing to have happen. I love to look back at the previous years posts I did about these kids of mine and see how different they are, and yet still so much the same. Nellie is still the stubborn one that doesn't like to be told what to do. She still is crazy over sweets and she still love love loves her Russy and now her baby sister Annie too!

Nellie is now in second grade. She is so smart and really picks up math when she is actually trying versus being too lazy. She loves going to school most of the time when she wakes up happy. Nellie really has to get enough sleep or she is really difficult to deal with, but now that we have moved into a new house and she has her own room she is actually stating to sleep in:) Yay for all of us. She used to get up super early and then go and wake up everyone else. Not cool. She has become a much better eater, and I can count on her 90 percent of the time to eat her dinner, Mostly when there is a treat for a reward. Her favorite dinner is Swiss Ham Ring around the Rosie as she calls it. Nellie loves to play with her big sister Lizzy and sometimes her and Jane get along great, other times they fight like cats and dogs. She still sort of likes Hello Kitty, but hasn't developed any new obsessions in a while. Green is not her favorite color anymore, but every time I ask her what her favorite color is she tells me something new. Nellie really wants to get her ears pierced like Lizzy, but she knows that she is too scared to at this time. Nellie has started losing teeth, which she loves because then she can earn money to buy stuff. The funny thing about Nellie is that money burns a hole in her pocket. If she has money she instantly wants to go and buy something with it, and not save it up to get something better. But she is slowly getting better about waiting to buy something and not being Instagirl (her nickname because she cannot wait for anything, if she wants something she wants it right that second.)

Nellie is the one that has her measuring stick out and always is making sure that she gets the same as everyone else.Especially when it comes to treats. I don't know if she will ever not be super obsessed with having a treat, but maybe she got that from me, I certainly like my treats too. Nellie is a lot like me, I see so much of how I was as a child in her and so I want to help her to see that a lot of those things make her unhappy. I am just trying to help her make the choice to be happy and that she has the power within herself.

We love our super stubborn Nellie Belle, she has a will of iron, but I know that is what helped her so much in her first part of life, she certainly helps us all have more patience!

Nellie's 7!!

It's hard to beleive that my Nellie is seven. Has it really been seven years since she came so abruptly into our lives? She wanted golf clubs for her birthday and so Kevy looked long and hard on ebay and found her a good set, even with a Nike bag for about 50 dollars. She has struggled with trying to golf with Kevy because she is a lefty like me, and I know how hard it is to golf with right handed clubs. She has since gone golfing and done so much better. Hopefully she will keep this up and really develop it, but she is seven so who knows. She also wanted a birthday party but I was really not looking forward to it because she is so hard to please and she couldn't make up her mind about what she wanted for the party and on top of it we were in the middle of moving. Poor thing we have moved three out of the last four summers and so I know her birthday has suffered, I really want to make it up to her next summer when she turns eight and throw her the best party. Anyway we convinced her that she wanted the money instead of a party and so she went to build a bear and made a cute leaopard named Roxy, and she spent her money other ways too, but I seriously cannot remember right now. Also she got a bow and arrow set from the Prices while they were here and all the kids had a blast with it.

I made Nellie a tres leches cake for her birthday and we were so lucky that her cousins came to visit and they happened to come on her birthday!
