My Little Princesses

We just had our annual spring dance recital. Both Lizzy and Nellie were in it and it was a crazy weekend. I dread it every year because it seems to take up the entire weekend. Plus it is a lot of doing hair and makeup and running around and all that jazz plus you have to sit through a ton of other performances just to see your own kids. But it of course was worth it because the girls loved it. Nellie was Sleeping Beauty and danced to the sleeping Beauty song. We don't really think that Nellie really likes dance that much because she never really wants to go and when she does she just stands around a lot. We figure it might be a little too structured for her and she might enjoy something like soccer better, so we will have to see.
I watched her for the dress rehearsal and she could see me so she stood there the whole time and smiled at me without doing a single dance move. Well Lizzy who is very into dance was extremely disturbed by this so the day of the performance she said "Now Nellie you need to make sure you don't just stand up there but you need to do your dance okay?" in her very bossy voice, it really was quite hilarious. Well since Nellie couldn't actually see us she did decide to do her dance and she did a great job, for her. I really don't think she will want to stick with it though, and that is just fine by me. I really want my kids to do what they want to do, when it comes to stuff like that. Here she is just standing there smiling while the rest of her class dances.

I asked Lizzy to let me take a picture of her and she of course posed, I don't think she knows how to take a picture without posing. She is so cute as Belle and she did such a great job dancing. She really LOVES to dance and is very concerned about the right steps and doing it correctly. She came here with so much personality and it is so funny because she is a girl through and through. She is all about Princesses and jewelry and makeup and anything girly. The funny thing is that I did not promote this whatsoever, it is just the way she came.

My girlies are just too cute, I did have a lot of fun getting them all dolled up, and they were so thrilled that they got to wear makeup. They ask me to wear makeup all the time and I say no so they were so happy when I got out my makeup, and put it on them.

Outside

This is a pretty common sight at our house. If the big girls are playing outside, which lately they do all the time, then Janie thinks she needs to be out there too. She LOVES to be outside, of course most little kids do. Whenever the girls head outside, Janie brings me her shoes and starts whining. She is so funny because if I say "Do you want to go outside?" She just starts shrieking. It is funny. I do feel bad because she is just too little to go out there without me, so when I am busy she just stands at the door and whines, while she watches the girls. I can't believe how big she is, I know I keep saying it but really, where has the time gone?

Dresses

Since we didn't dress up for conference Sunday, this past Sunday was the first day the girls wore their Easter dresses. Nellie of course picked out her green fabric and Lizzy picked out pink of the same fabric. I already had some picked out for Janie, but I decided she needed to be the same as her sisters so I found the blue. I thought they looked so cute, the same but different. Of course though when it came time to take pictures Janie was not going to have any of it. This was the picture we got of all three. Janie walking away showing us her diaper. Lately she has been lifting up her shirts and showing off her belly, and that is what she did the whole time she wore this dress.

Eventually we just decided to take a picture of Lizzy and Nellie and it turned out really cute. They looked so cute with their hair all curly. I still haven't mastered the foam curlers so i spend quite a bit of time in the morning re curling it and fixing it. So we only do it this way on very special occasions.
I just really get a kick out of this picture. We were trying again after church to get a picture of Jane and Grammie and Papi's dog Chloe was running around and Janie was chasing her.

Hey, we did get one without her lifting up her dress. She is just such a cute little monkey.
We wanted a family picture but of course Janie didn't want to cooperate. Everyone else looks good though, except me, I have been growing my hair out a little and I have been liking it, but after seeing this picture I may have to rethink it. I feel like I look like I didn't even do my hair. I don't know if it is just the picture or if it really doesn't look that good and I just don't realize it. I have very little patience with things like this anyway. Usually my hair starts to grow out a tiny bit and I am going crazy and chop it off. So we will just have to see if I keep growing it out or not, I think I really need a color (Kristi!) and maybe it would look better. Enough about my stupid hair!

Easter

We did the annual coloring Easter eggs. I don't think you can go a year without coloring eggs. The girls loved doing it and Nellie even did some that weren't green! Jane on the other hand was not happy that she didn't get to help and so I put her on my lap forgetting that there was a color tablet right there on the table. She put it in her mouth and managed to get green everywhere. I noticed and knocked over one of the cups of color when I got up and got pink dye all over our white carpet. Just so everyone knows it doesn't come out of carpet, even when you immediately remove it. We had a carpet cleaner here so that was good, but it still didn't do anything, I ended up putting bleach on the carpet and that did the trick. It mostly came out. Of course I would be the one to spill, not the kids.

I was planning on using the eggs the next day for deviled eggs, but Lizzy and Nellie were not thrilled about it. They wanted to keep them to look at, but not eat, silly girls.

The next morning we heard the kids going through their Easter baskets. And Janie talking in her crib so we went and got Janie up and the Easter bunny had left her these cute bunny ears. She doesn't like having things on her head but she likes these. She will put them on herself and then go and look in the mirror at herself and laugh.

We bought Janie this Easter basket because the girls got their cute fuzzy ones a couple of years ago and Janie didn't have one. She loves it and carries it around everywhere. She will hug it and say Aww.

I really don't know what the Easter bunny was thinking bringing the girls all this candy when they were going to Grammie and Papi's for an egg hunt later that day. Especially with Nellie and her craziness over candy lately. She is totally addicted and it is so hard to get her to eat because all she wants is candy. I think the Easter bunny experienced a moment of insanity and wasn't thinking. Do you like how Lizzy already was dressed for the day. We had gotten her a bunch of new spring clothes the day before and she was so excited to wear them she got dressed before came upstairs in the morning.

All the kids minus Braysen, waiting for the egg hunt to start. They all look so cute!

Nellie had a lot f fun in the egg hunt and was completely overlooked by the older kids, so she made out like a bandit, I think she ended up with the most eggs.

Janie just had fun walking around carrying her basket, she did think it was really cool to pick up the eggs and put them in her basket, but then she started picking lots of grass and putting it in too.

There is our poser. Lizzy loves to pose when I take her picture.

After the egg hunt we went in and watched Conference at Kevy's parents and Jane just loved this little chair. She kept going and hanging out in it. We had such a great Easter, and hope everyone else did too!

Egg Hunt

Evey Easter there is an egg hunt here in town. We look forward to it every year because it is so fun. They have a tons of eggs and lots of games and things for the kids to do. The last couple of years it has been so cold that we didn't stay around for the games, so it was kind of nice this year that it was pouring rain so they held it at the Elementary school and just gave us a bag of eggs and then the kids got to go and play games without being cold. Kelli and Lance and their kids and Grammie and Papi came up too so it made it even more fun! I got to open Janie's candy that she is so nice to share with me. :) She just loved sitting on my lap and grabbing at the eggs.
I just love Lizzy's smile. She is almost always smiling.

Nellie looks drunk in her pictures half the time. It is hard to get good pictures of her.

Nellie doing the bean bag toss. I was glad she made it on the last try, you wouldn't want to see Nellie not get the prize that everyone else did, that would have been ugly.

Going Fishing!

They had these cute tunnels that the kids could crawl through. This picture of the girls turned out really cute. I didn't get a picture but Nellie got to hold a little chick and she just loved it. I kept asking her if she was ready to put it down and she kept telling me no. Nellie really loves animals. It is funny how opposite two kids can be, Lizzy was NOT interested in touching the chicks.
