Trip to the Bay

We wanted to go on an overnighter over spring break since we didnt go on a big trip for spring break this year.  Also we always have said once the kids start getting bigger and we don't have babies anymore we want to do more things. So here was our chance.  I have always wanted to go to Muir Woods since I have heard how amazing it was.  But it gets really crowded  and you have to get there early. We deicided to go down on a thursday night and stay overnight that way we could leave early to get there. We found a hotel that was pretty close by so we could get there early the next morning.  It ended up being pretty late by the time we left so we didnt get there until almost bedtime, but there was no traffic so that was nice.  Plus we just went straight to bed so it worked out well for the kids and they went to bed good.

Clara was living the life the next day just hanging out while we all packed up and got ready to go.
The drive up to Muir Woods was so pretty with some beautiful views.
We thought we got there soon enough to get a close spot, but nope, it was crazy!! We had to end up parking really far away and walk, it was so far that we were giving serious thought to just bagging the whole thing, but I just couldn't with the money spent to stay night and everything. once we started walking though it really wasn't that bad, and thankfully we had a stroller for little miss. Poor Jane was not feeling well at all that day after the windy drive. But once we got there she started feeling better.
We really loved walking around looking at all the trees and all the beautiful scenery. Russell was the cutest because he kept saying, "I love these Red forest trees." Annie was cold the whole time because it was a little cold in the shade and it was mostly shady there with all the trees, so she was a little whiny, but it was still a lot of fun.

Miss Clara was so silly and of course did not want anything to do with her stroller unless she got to push i,t and of course couldn't do it very well. Haha, stubborn little monkey.

of course the only picture we got of all of us together there is a giant light spot on my head.

I love making memories with this family. It is harder for us to go do stuff than it is for other families, but I still love when we get to do stuff together.

I especially love when we can go do stuff with Kevin too. Its fun to do stuff with the kids but when Kevin is there too it is the best ever!

We found these cute bears carved out of wood and Russell especially wanted a picture with them.
After we left Muir woods we needed lunch so we went into Sausalito and found a Panda Express for lunch.  Unfortunately on the drive there Janie got feeling sick again and stayed in the car instead of eating lunch with us. She eventually ate and started feeling a lot better.

After we ate we wanted to make sure we went to the beach since we were close.  We found one that was pretty close, it was fun to drive around up on the mountain and look down on the Golden Gate Bridge. We got to Rodeo Beach and it was SO freezing!  We got out of the car and even with jackets it was awful!  The wind was blowing so hard and all I wanted to do was get back in the car!  But everyone else wanted to go so we went.

It was so weird because it wasn't even sand. It was small rocks that felt awful on our feet.

Luckily it was so cold that Clara and Annie were not interested in going in the water. They just stayed by me and I stayed bundled up under as many towels as I could.

Kevy tried to come and keep me warm. I was so happy when everyone decided it was time to go home. By the time we left it was late enough that the traffic was pretty bad heading home so it took quite a while, we had to stop in Vacaville to get something to eat and Annie let the stuffed animal that we bought her drop out of the car when we got out and so she had it a whole 2 hours.  I'm so glad we spent our money getting souvenirs for the kids. The worst part was she was like "Oh well."  Bug!  We did have a great time and we are looking forward to many more adventures in the next few years.
