Open House

I love going to Open House each year because I love how excited the girls get to show us all the things they have done throughout the school year.

This is a picture of Nellie at her desk, she did a report this year on peacocks (or peafowl as they are actually called) and we had to help her do a habitat. That is it in the picture.  Nellie was insistent that we should make the peacock out of clay but we convinced her there was no way she could really do that, so we printed out some pictures and laminated them.  Well she let us know that everyone had made theirs out of clay except her. Typical Nellie.  But of course when we went to the open house and saw all of them there were plenty that had done the same thing as her.

Here is Lizzy at her desk.  Her big project this year was to do a biography of someone.  She chose Betsy Ross.  That is her on the chair behind Lizzy.  Then she got to dress as her and give a presentation.  She had to memorize her whole paper she wrote that was two pages long.  I was really proud of her because she had the whole thing memorized and did a great job!
The girls had some art displayed in the Multi-Purpose Room that they did during the year with their Art Docent.  I really hope when the little kids get a bit bigger that I can be the Art Docent for the kids classes.  I think it would be so fun to do that with them.

It has been a great school year and it is so crazy that it has come to an end.  I can't believe how fast time goes by!  It feels like this school year just started.  Crazy! I don't know if we will be at this school again next year or not, but it is a great school and the girls have loved it there.

Such good artists like their Mom! :) That is so amazing that Lizzy memorized all of her speech! Smart cute girls!
